Another option for me is to invest more into a laptop and buy an M1 Pro Macbook Pro base model secondhand/refurbished. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Doing both upgrades would bring me almost at the same price point as the M1 Pro base model, and to make the M2 Air still worth it I can only really do one upgrade.
